Sabelpoots/Booted Bantams
Like pekins, sabelpoots (called booted bantams in the UK) are a true bantam breed and equally ideal for small gardens. They lay a very good number of eggs (mine lay an average of 5 eggs a week per hen) and are great with children.
The name is often misspelled as 'sablepoot' - the 'sabel' part is the Dutch name for their vulture hocks. A multitude of colours exist on the Continent, but in the UK the most common available colours are lemon millefleur, gold millefleur, porcelain millefleur and lavender.
